Mysterious Marketing...

We've got a new low cost CPM campaign running in Chicago this month....

This is one of the 5 billboards:

4info_billboard

Here's why I like it:

  • The call to action is very simple
  • It is meant to make a user stop and wonder what it is
  • It uses some of the colors of the chicago bears to create brand recognition

What do you folks think?

I like it a lot. We're trying to develop a campaign to reach African-American youth with sex information, and they have been having trouble with the following instructions:
Text SEXINFO to 61827

They have been sending blank messages, their own messages, etc. It seems obvious, but our usability testing is showing it's not. Hmmmm....

The call to action and the curiosity aspect is great. But how is it creating brand recognition? Looking at that ad I wouldn't remember to use it later - it does not refer to 4INFO, even the text reply to "bears" does not have 4INFO in it.
